She is aiming to focus on how energy transition strategies, like renewable integration, green finance mechanisms, and emission reduction measures, can reduce air pollution and support long term climate goals.

Yernazar Kuan is particularly interested in upcycling nanocellulose-reinforced biodegradable bioplastics as alternatives to petroleum-based plastics. His recent focus includes nanocellulose extraction from fruit peels accumulated in landfills, which will further be investigated into reinforcement study.

Zainab's work sits at the intersection of clean-energy technology, finance, and policy in the MENA region. Her current research stream examines hydrogen plant location determinants by studying resource profiles and capacity factors, water sourcing options, land and permitting, and much more.
